    Belgian Dubbel | 8% ABV | 12.6% IBU

    Details

Rich and complex malt flavors combine with low hop bitterness to make this a classic Belgian-style Dubbel. Extra points if you detect a hint of banana and clove flavors hidden in its seductive aroma. "Midwest-made, but as good as the genuine right-from-Belgium article." -John Holl All About Beer. Caramelized bananas in the aroma along with a faint earthy note, cola and a low level of spiciness with a hint of clove. Toasty malt, with a flavor like singed wood. Good carbonation to help balance. Low residual sugar so that it has a pretty dry finish. Beautiful thing to have a beer be dry without being bitter! Very drinkable and a welcome departure from the bitter bombs of our current beer culture. Tempted to whip up a pork loin rubbed with Asian five spice blend just to try with this. Would probably go well with some desserts too: Bananas Foster, flan. • Saison

    Farmhouse Ale | 6% ABV | 30% IBU

    Details

For hundreds of years in Belgium, farmers would assemble whatever fruits and grains they had leftover in the fall to make a beer for their workers in the spring. They would produce a Saison each year, keeping it on the lighter side to ensure their workers thirsts were properly quenched, while maintaining their productivity. Each years Saison would be unique, incorporating orange peel, barley, oats, wheat and perhaps a touch of rye. Our Belgian-style farmhouse ale is brewed with a hint of orange peel to deliver the kind of strategic refreshment you need after a long hot day laboring on a Belgian farm. Or a sultry afternoon by your favorite Minnesota lake.
